Mehmet Sapmaz is a devout Muslim, but he is also a member of Bavaria's conservative Christian Social Union. Sapmaz is of Turkish descent and is a CSU member of the town council of Erlangen. He hasn't always had an easy time. He and his family have had to overcome plenty of prejudice.
